Position Summary
The Center for Community Schooling (CCS) in UCLA's School of Education & Information Studies is a campus-wide initiative to advance democracy, justice and education. This work involves: (1) supporting, studying and sharing the work of the two UCLA Community Schools; (2) serving as a regional training center for other university-assisted community... schools; and (3) integrating research and practice to inform the development of community schools across the state and nation. The UCLA-CS Partnership Lead provides leadership for the development of UCLA-partnered enrichment and integrated student supports at the UCLA Community School and contributes to the development of learning resources for the CCS's State Transformational Assistance Center–supported by an historic $4B state investment intended to provide sufficient resources for every high-poverty school in California to become a community school within the next 5 years. The UCLA-CS Partnership Lead is a member of the CCS Leadership Team—a distributive leadership model. Primary responsibilities of the UCLA-CS Partnership Lead include: Collaborating with UCLA Community School and UCLA Partners to lead, develop, and implement services, resources, and experiences with and from various parts of UCLA such as professional schools, volunteer programs, communications, residential life, athletics, health sciences, UCLA Teacher Education Program and many other parts of SEIS; Work closely with UCLA-CS leadership to ensure partnership activities further the school's vision and mission; and work closely with SEIS leadership to ensure partnership activities further the university's vision and mission; Lead professional learning and technical assistance for the CCS's State Transformational Assistance Center, working closely with partners at the National Education Association. Salary & Compensation
• UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications
• 5+years Leadership experience in the K-12 California public education system (Required)
• Experience in the K-12 California public education system and In-depth knowledge of and experience in K-12 community schools. (Required)
• Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. (Required)
• Demonstrated ability to write and speak effectively (Required)
• Strong leadership as a detail-oriented problem solver and decision maker. (Required)
• Track record of setting up and managing organizational structures for distributive leadership. Management-level experience working with academic program administrators, faculty and senior executives to advance professional development goals required. (Required)
• Demonstrated experience working in ethnically, linguistically and socio-economically diverse communities. Knowledge and skills in collaborating with diverse stakeholders as well as with community-based organizations. (Preferred)
• Experience planning and conducting high-level meetings and delivering presentations both informational and technical. (Required)
• Within state travel required. (Required)
• Ability to work flexible hours and weekends. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
• Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
