Responsibilities
• Assist with classroom instruction and provide support to teachers as needed
• Support students' learnign and facilitate their success
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning
• Collaborate with teachers to meet students' diverse needs and provide individualized support
• Assist in assessing progress and provide constructive feedback to teachers
Qualifications
• Associate degree or higher
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable
• Strong communciation and interpersonal skillls
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for support student learning and grtowth
• Ability to communicate in Spanish (preferred)

• Assist with getting classroom ready for instruction

Supervise group activities
• Teach small groups who need addtional support or guidance
• Listen to students read and read aloud to them
• Deliver engaging, student-centered, and language-rich lessons designed by lead teacher
• Embrace a diverse range of students, inspiring growth in ALL regardless of ability or personal background
Education And Experience
Minimum
• Completion of an Associate's Degree OR two years of higher education equivalent to 48 credit hours OR ability to pass a formal assessment (Workkey and 96 hours of in-service training) OR completion of the NC DOL Apprenticeship Program OR completion of the NC ATA Professional Development Plan
Desirable
• Associate's Degree with a concentration in Education
• 2+ years working with elementary age children
