Job Description: We are seeking dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers (SPED) to join our team for the 24/25 school year near Charlotte, NC. These full-time positions (37.5 hours per week) involve working in various classroom settings, including inclusion classrooms and resource or self-contained settings, across different grade levels.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to provide inclusive classroom experiences for students.
• Adapt and modify lessons and activities to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Monitor and assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods as needed.
• Provide support and guidance to students in academic, social, and behavioral areas.
• Work closely with parents, caregivers, and support staff to create a supportive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
• Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Must hold a valid North Carolina Special Education teaching certification.
• Previous experience working in special education is preferred.
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiated instruction.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and colleagues.
• Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting students' success.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
