Summary:

Our School Psychologists are responsible for the evaluation of students with emotional, social, and/or behavioral concerns for the special education department. School Psychologists also assist with the evaluations for suspected Autism and Emotionally Disturbed students. Successful candidates should also have the following experiences and characteristics:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assume responsibility for the organization and operation of work within the area of supporting students and staff working with special education students following federal program guidelines as directed by the district and as specified in 34 Code of Federal Regulations §300.208 (a)(1)
• Facilitate case management of evaluations through involvement with intervention and/or evaluation team meetings, consultation with parents and teachers, observations, and behavior management plans
• Evaluate the intellectual, emotional, behavioral, and/or adaptive behavior functioning of referred students.
• Determine and utilize appropriate tests for evaluations, score and interpret test data, write psychological evaluation reports, and behavior management plans
• Participate as a member of the IEP Team as needed and when appropriate
• Be available for consultations regarding program/service effectiveness
• Make recommendations for Special Education eligibility of students for special education programs on the basis of emotional disturbance and /or other disabilities
• Take initiative to develop professional skills appropriate to job assignments
• Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, moral, and responsible
• Consult with school staff and parents regarding children with social, emotional, and/or behavioral problems as well as cognitive impairments
• Meet with parents to discuss pertinent background information as well as evaluation results
• Consult with parents, teachers, principals, special education staff, and community agencies concerning intellectual, emotional, social, and behavioral functioning of referred students when necessary
• Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of Epic Charter School and follow directives from supervisor(s)
• Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor
• Perform other functions that may be assigned by the Administration and/or supervisor

Education and/or Experience
• Master's Degree
• Licensure by the State of Oklahoma
• Experience working with students and families preferred
• Prior clinical or educational experience required

• Advanced understanding of special ed law and compliance
• Ability to collect and analyze data from a variety of sources
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrates the ability to think creatively and demonstrates leadership abilities
• Ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively and gain credibility quickly to instill confidence of teaching ability
• Strong decision making, organizational, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong technology skills in up-to-date computer software including Zoom, word processing and spreadsheets
• Current on new instructional technologies
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others

• Ability to maintain professional confidentiality and comply with FERPA and HIPAA guidelines

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to communicate effectively with students, families and

coworkers, both verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively present information to students, families and supervisors.

Basic math skills required

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Google applications, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with EdPlan preferred. Must have a high aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the business operations of the school.

• Current driver's license and valid car insurance
• Licensure by the State of Oklahoma

Other Qualifications
• Must be able to pass a state-mandated background check after a conditional offer of employment is made
• Must have favorable employment references
