Harvard-Westlake Middle School is seeking a highly qualified temporary history/social studies teacher for our 7 th (American History & Government) and 9 th (The Mediterranean and Europe) grade offerings. This full-time position will last for one semester, from late August (2024) to January (2025). Our history program takes pride in its commitment to caring for students as individual learners and... in our collaborative approach to curriculum development. Ideal candidates should possess a passion for teaching history/social studies and working with middle school students. Additionally, candidates should have subject expertise, a strong work ethic, high standards for themselves and others, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in history or a related field; MA or PhD a plus
• Ability to teach classes on American History & Government and the Mediterranean World
• Strong communication skills and team-player attitude
• Enthusiasm for working with middle school students
• Ideal candidates will be excited about becoming part of our vibrant school community and broadly engaging with students and colleagues
