Fuel OKC’s mission is to triple the number of students attending a quality school within the boundaries of the Oklahoma City Public School District by July 2034 ensuring that over half of all students within OKCPS attend a quality school.

Job Description

The Director of Quality Schools is responsible for overseeing the tracking, forecasting, and increasing the number of students being served in quality schools (quality seats) in Oklahoma City. The Director of Quality Schools will work closely with public school leaders, board members, and other stakeholders to advance the goals of the organization.

Key Abilities and Attributes
• Knowledge in the inner workings of public schools.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with public school leaders, contracted partner organizations, and other stakeholders.
• Must be detail oriented, extremely organized, and have exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Passionate about providing quality public school options to all children in Oklahoma City.
• Must be able to work collaboratively in a culturally and politically diverse community.

Overall Job Responsibilities

The Director of Quality Schools will be responsible for the following:
• Lead the development of a strategy for increasing the number of students attending high quality public schools in Oklahoma City.
• Advise public school leaders, board members, and other stakeholders on best practices and scalable solutions to common challenges.
• Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, cultivate and maintain strong external relationships with leaders, board members, and other stakeholders in public schools across Oklahoma City.
• Effectively represent the interests of the organization in internal and external meetings.
• Oversee tracking quality seats in Oklahoma City to ensure that the organization meets its mission.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
• Hold high expectations for all children in Oklahoma City regardless of family’s income level, racial background and/or challenging environments. You must believe that ALL children can excel to work at Fuel OKC.
• Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to use current versions of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and publishing software applications.
• Light travel across Oklahoma City for meetings or nationally for conferences may be required. Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Salary and Benefits

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. In addition, a comprehensive benefits package is included.
