Position Overview
Legacy Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly qualified, dedicated, and enthusiastic 6th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Long-Term Substitute Teacher for an educational partner in the Metro Atlanta area.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to deliver engaging, standards-based instruction that supports student achievement in reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking.
A valid teaching certification is required for consideration.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and effective 6th Grade ELA instruction aligned with Georgia Standards of Excellence and the school's curriculum.
Develop and implement lesson plans that promote reading comprehension, writing proficiency, vocabulary development, and critical thinking.
Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
Assess student learning through assignments, quizzes, tests, and classroom participation.
Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and academic needs.
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to ensure instructional continuity.
Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student progress records.
Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school leadership.
Follow all school policies, procedures, and professional expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid teaching certification (REQUIRED).
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience teaching English Language Arts, preferably at the middle school level.
Strong knowledge of literacy instruction, reading comprehension, and writing strategies.
Effective classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with school leadership.
Ability to successfully complete all required background screening and school clearance procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Active Georgia teaching certification in Middle Grades Language Arts (4–8), English (6–12), or another appropriate certification accepted by the school.
Previous experience teaching 6th Grade ELA.
Experience working in charter schools or other K–12 educational settings.
Familiarity with differentiated instruction, student assessments, and educational technology.
