Summary
Under the general supervision of the Equipment Foreman, the Equipment Mechanic maintains, services and repairs maintenance equipment and vehicles.

Classified job is announced to all qualified applicants. 8 hours per day/257 days per year/Lane 11 $25.52 per hour (2026 - 2027 Support Salary Table) [Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase] GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the Equipment Foreman, the Equipment Mechanic maintains, services and repairs maintenance equipment and vehicles. Educational Requirements: 1. Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical functions. Knowledge & Ability: 1. Thorough knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair. Must be familiar with wide variety of equipment, being able to work with heavy equipment through vehicles and smaller grounds equipment. 2. Knowledge of hydraulics, including rams, pump lifts and controls. 3. Ability to weld variety of metals. 4. Knowledge of material safety data sheets (MSDS) preferred. Job-Related Experience: 1. Four years of experience related to the above tasks, knowledges, skills and abilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licenses/Certification: 1. Commercial driver's license.
