Job Description

A rewarding opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher experienced in supporting students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD) in an elementary classroom setting. This full-time contract position, located in Houston, TX, offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on a small class of 5 to 8 students exhibiting significant behaviors, with additional support from two paraprofessionals to assist in classroom management.

Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with EBD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
• Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies.
• Collaborating closely with support staff and families to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Managing classroom dynamics effectively while promoting positive student outcomes.

Desired qualifications and experience:
• Valid Texas Special Education EC-12 teaching license (please verify in TEA database).
• Proven experience working with students exhibiting significant behavioral challenges, particularly those with EBD and ASD.
• Ability to maintain composure and implement strategies in a small, behaviorally challenging classroom.
• Clear background check and drug screening as required by the district.
• No suspensions or disciplinary actions on licensure records.
• Candidates must not currently be under contract with any Texas school district.

Location and schedule:
• Elementary campus near Houston, TX (exact location TBD).
• Full-time hours totaling 37.5 hours per week.
• Contract duration from ASAP through May 22, 2026.
