Baltimore School of Music is one of Maryland’s premier community music schools, serving hundreds of students each week in a collaborative, student-centered environment. We are seeking an enthusiastic Percussion Teacher to join our faculty and help students of all ages build confidence, develop their skills, and enjoy making music.

Responsibilities
• Provide engaging, high-quality private percussion instruction to children, teens, and adults
• Teach 30-, 45-, and 60-minute lessons tailored to each student’s experience, interests, and goals
• Help students develop strong technique, rhythm, music-reading skills, and musicianship
• Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and other performance opportunities
• Build positive relationships with students and families that support long-term musical growth
• Encourage participation in recitals and other school programs that enrich the student experience
• Maintain accurate lesson notes and communicate student progress when appropriate
• Participate in faculty meetings, recitals, and other school activities as requested
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent professional teaching experience preferred; current college students pursuing a degree in music are encouraged to apply
• Previous private percussion teaching experience
• Strong percussion performance skills
• Ability to adapt instruction to students of different ages, abilities, and musical interests
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for teaching and helping students grow as musicians
• Reliable availability during scheduled teaching days
• Authorization to work in the United States

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
