The position assists with tasks associated with the delivery of services to students enrolled in Adult Education Programs.
This temporary position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after six (6) consecutive months of continuous employment (as per FRS Statue).
This is a temporary grant funded position through June 30, 2026, contingent upon grant or funding and grant extensions
What you will be doing
• Guides students through the admissions, registration, assessment, and payment processes
• Screens and follows up on student related problems for appropriate referral and problem resolution
• Handles external and internal inquiries from public, instructors, students, and staff and follows-up with appropriate action
• Prepares and organizes materials for the dissemination of information regarding the college's programs and student services
• Effectively utilizes standard office software applications in the performance of duties
• Participates in training activities and workshops
• Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
• Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and three (3) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of College organization: admission, registration, academic regulations, programs of study and departmental regulations
• Knowledge of College activities and special programs, college regulations, testing, counseling and advisement services
• Knowledge of College policy, procedure, state rules, and statutes
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Excellent computer keyboarding skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relations with students, faculty and administration
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and some weekend assignments
