Job Description
Supports the continuous operation of the District's VoIP Telecom system, ESNA voicemail and operation of the District's systems administration and troubleshooting support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Incumbent must achieve the following outcomes with or without reasonable accommodation:
• Assist and supports remotely and in the field, maintains, and repairs the APS District telecom system, ESNA voicemail and all components for all APS schools and locations.
• Responsible for performing programming of the VoIP servers.
• Responsible for trouble shooting problems with the operation of Telecom systems and components, including cabling, digital circuits-ISDN, and analog circuits.
• Responsible for daily service tickets district wide.
• Able to organize, work and complete multiple projects at a time.
• Provides high quality customer service to all APS employees district wide.
DUTIES: In addition to the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must perform the following duties:
• Complies with state-approved Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulations.
• Articulates and facilitates the implementation of the mission and values of the Albuquerque Public Schools.
• Safeguards confidentiality of privileged information.
• Prepares and maintains accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state directives, district policy and administrative regulations.
• Shares the responsibility for the supervision and care of district inventory, proper and safe use of facilities, equipment and supplies, and reports safety hazards promptly.
• Maintains professional relationships and works cooperatively with employees, the community and other professionals.
• Maintains professional competence through individual and staff training, in-service educational activities and self-selected professional growth activities.
• Attends and/or conducts staff meetings and participates on committees within area of responsibility.
• Performs other tasks related to area of responsibilities as requested or assigned by an immediate supervisor.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:
• Avaya CM Certified or Net+ Certified
• Knowledge of Layer 1 (Physical Layer) such as copper loop, ISDN/PRI, and Fiber services.
• Experience with technician or engineering of VoIP phone systems tech support, networking and hardware, such as switches, routers, phone systems, VoIP etc.
• Experience with Avaya VoIP platform and certification of Avaya and or other VoIP systems.
• Knowledge of PRI, SIP, and analog voice circuits and how to troubleshoot each.
• Proficient with Network protocols, media and test equipment.
• Understanding of SIP, IP, VLAN and other networking protocols.
• Strong knowledge of PRI, SIP, analog voice circuits and how to troubleshoot each.
• Valid New Mexico driver's license with insurable driving record.
• Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills
REQUIREMENTS:
• Associates degree with related major, Electronics or Telecommunications/ and one-year related telecommunications/ VoIP PBX administration experience.
• OR High School Diploma or GED and three years related telecommunications/ VoIP PBX administration experience.
