Milton Hershey School (MHS) is an exceptional home and educational institution serving over 2,200 pre-K through 12th grade students from underprivileged backgrounds. Founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, the school provides a remarkable, cost-free, career-focused education, and continues to expand in support of our students.

MHS is seeking dedicated married couples to join our team as Full-time Flex Houseparents. This rewarding career allows couples to reside in on-campus homes, where they will care for, guide, supervise, and support a group of approximately 8-13 students. As Flex Houseparents, your role is vital in fostering a nurturing, family-like environment that promotes students' academic, emotional, and social growth.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules effectively.
• Administer medications and ensure the wellness of each student.
• Transport students to activities while planning and engaging in developmental and recreational outings.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and maintain household reporting.

Upon hiring, Flex Houseparents will support various student homes, following a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off. Weekdays offer unscheduled time while students are in school. Eventually, Flex Houseparents will transition to a Placed Houseparent role, where they will work closely with the same group of students in a dedicated home.

• Salary: $46,917 per person (approximately $180,000 total compensation per couple, including free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more).

Qualifications:
• Experience working or volunteering with youth is essential.
• Couples must be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses should be 27 years of age or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty.
• Pet limitations apply: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfortable leading students in daily devotions and participating in Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff are role models for students.
