School-age teacher for children who are homeschooled
We are looking to welcome a professional, sincere school-age teacher who understands that learning goes beyond the classroom.
We are seeking a teacher whose creative ideas can be shared with children who are looking to learn the daily domains of typical schooling while also exploring real-world life skills.
Our classroom setting is warm, comfortable, and intimate. We create our own little micro-world for children to learn about themselves, explore electives that spark their individual interests, and have time to understand their thoughts while sharing with others and gaining different perspectives.
If you enjoy working with children between the ages of 8–14 and believe that learning can happen in many different ways, this may be a great opportunity to explore.
Duties
• Conduct pre-made lesson plans and activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills for school-age children
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety at all times through vigilant child supervision and behavior management
• Foster a positive classroom environment by encouraging confidence, cooperation, respect, and independence among students
• Maintain academic portfolio, accurate records of attendance, activities, and developmental milestones in accordance with daycare policies
Requirements
• Prior experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or classroom setting is highly preferred- working specifically with school-age children is requires
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and child development instruction techniques
• Certification in first aid and CPR (Child and Pediatric First Aid) is required or willing to obtain prior to start date
• Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
• Arrive to work on time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 per week
