The Educational Policy Analyst (Strategic Partnerships & Corporate Engagement) is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing strategic partnerships and external resource development initiatives that advance the educational priorities of the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and Spark SF Public Schools. Reporting to the Director of Development, the incumbent serves as the project manager for complex corporate, civic, and philanthropic partnerships, coordinating cross-functional initiatives involving SFUSD departments, Spark staff, corporate partners, foundations, and community organizations.

The incumbent is responsible for identifying and cultivating new partnership opportunities; developing funding concepts; preparing grant proposals, sponsorship proposals, and partnership agreements; coordinating stewardship and reporting requirements; and ensuring successful implementation of partnership commitments.

The position also leads Spark's corporate sponsorship program for its annual gala and other fundraising initiatives by identifying prospective sponsors, cultivating relationships with corporate decision-makers, developing sponsorship proposals, negotiating sponsorship agreements, and ensuring fulfillment of sponsorship benefits. Through strategic relationship management and business development activities, the incumbent expands corporate and civic investment in support of SFUSD priorities.

Essential Duties

The duties specified below are representative of the range of duties assigned to the job code/class and are not intended to be an inclusive or exhaustive list.

As the Educational Policy Analyst, you will:

● Research, identify, cultivate, and develop strategic relationships with corporations, civic organizations, foundations, and community partners whose philanthropic, corporate social responsibility, or community investment priorities align with SFUSD educational initiatives

● Develop and implement strategies to secure new corporate partnerships, sponsorships, grants, and collaborative initiatives that expand external investment in district priorities

● Represent Spark SF Public Schools and SFUSD in meetings with prospective partners, corporate executives, foundation representatives, civic organizations, and community stakeholders

● Research funding opportunities and prepare high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, sponsorship proposals, partnership agreements, executive briefing materials, and related communications

● Lead development of customized sponsorship proposals for Spark's annual gala and other organizational initiatives

● Coordinate proposal development with program staff, district leadership, finance staff, and external partners to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and timely submission

● Develop reports demonstrating program outcomes and stewardship of corporate and philanthropic investments

● Serve as the primary relationship manager for designated strategic corporate partners, including Salesforce and other major corporate investors

● Solicit corporate sponsorships for Spark's annual gala and other fundraising initiatives through cultivation, proposal development, negotiation, stewardship, and ongoing relationship management

● Develop annual engagement plans for major corporate partners, including executive briefings, recognition opportunities, volunteer engagement, and impact reporting

● Ensure fulfillment of sponsorship agreements and partnership commitments

● Coordinate implementation of complex partnership initiatives involving multiple SFUSD departments and external organizations

● Develop project timelines, monitor deliverables, coordinate meetings, prepare reports, identify implementation challenges, and recommend corrective actions

● Maintain partnership documentation, grant files, sponsorship records, and reporting calendars

● Monitor compliance with grant requirements and partnership agreements

● Prepare analytical reports, presentations, executive summaries, funding recommendations, and briefing materials for senior leadership

● Maintain accurate records within Salesforce CRM system to support partnership management, reporting, and strategic planning

● Performs other related duties as assigned

The strongest candidates will have:

● Experience developing and managing strategic corporate partnerships

● Demonstrated success in business development, sponsorship solicitation, and relationship management

● Experience securing corporate sponsorships and philanthropic investments

● Experience preparing grant proposals, sponsorship proposals, executive presentations, and partnership agreements

● Ability to cultivate relationships with senior corporate executives, foundations, civic leaders, and community organizations

● Experience managing multiple complex projects involving internal and external stakeholders

● Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills

● Knowledge of San Francisco’s public schools/urban public schools and a passionate belief in SFUSD’s commitment to instructional leadership as a lever toward delivering on the SFUSD Graduate Profile

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience

● Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S) from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Public Policy, Education, Business Administration, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or a closely related field

● Two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in one or more of the following areas:

o Strategic partnership development

o Corporate engagement

o Grant writing and grant administration

o Business development

o Resource development

o Corporate sponsorship development

o Public affairs or community relations

o Fund development within a nonprofit, educational institution, public agency, or philanthropic organization

Substitution

Education requirement may be substituted for additional experience on a year-for-year basis
