Job Description

The Director of Partnerships will serve as a key member of the regional leadership team, responsible for developing, cultivating, and sustaining strong school, district, CMO, community, and strategic partnerships across the Dallas region. This is a relationship-driven, externally facing role that requires a consistent presence in schools and throughout the community. While this is a hybrid position, the Director is expected to spend significant time in the field meeting with school leaders, visiting partner schools, attending community and education events, developing new partnerships, and strengthening existing relationships. Regular local travel throughout Dallas and the surrounding region is an essential responsibility of the role

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Strategy, Vision & Regional Growth

• Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive regional partnership strategy aligned

with City Teaching Alliance's mission, program goals, and growth priorities.

• Establish annual partnership goals aligned with Fellow placement targets, partner retention,

partnership quality, revenue opportunities, and regional growth.

• Lead slot-selling and placement confirmations with school partners to ensure sufficient high-

quality placement capacity aligned with projected Fellow cohort needs.

• Develop a proactive pipeline of prospective school, district, CMO, community, university, and

other strategic partners.

• Identify opportunities to deepen existing partnerships based on workforce needs, talent

priorities, Fellow experience, and strategic alignment.

• Develop multi-year partnership and talent pipeline strategies with priority partners to move

relationships beyond annual placement transactions.

• Collaborate closely with the Executive Director on new partner development, strategic

relationships, program expansion, regional growth, and continuous improvement.

• Identify emerging regional workforce trends and partnership opportunities that could

strengthen CTA's impact and long-term sustainability.

Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.

• 7–10 years of professional experience, including significant experience in partnerships, business

development, external relations, education, workforce development, or program leadership.

• Demonstrated success developing and growing external partnerships through proactive, in-

person relationship building and stakeholder engagement.

• Strong knowledge of K–12 urban school systems, particularly within Dallas, Texas, strongly

preferred.

• Established ability to develop trusted relationships with senior leaders, school administrators,

community leaders, and diverse external stakeholders.

• Experience developing and executing strategies with measurable outcomes and clearly defined

KPIs.

• Strong presentation, facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience using data to evaluate partnership performance, identify opportunities, and drive

decision-making.

• Demonstrated ability to develop new relationships and move prospective partners from initial

conversation to formal partnership.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and operate

effectively with a high degree of independence.

• Strong cross-functional collaboration and project-management skills.
• Experience managing people or complex cross-functional initiatives is a plus.
• Demonstrated commitment to educational equity and anti-racism.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the region for school visits, partner

meetings, events, and other external engagements
