Job Description
We are currently hiring for 2 openings in the Phoenix area for educators passionate about supporting students with sensory impairments.
Position: Special Education / Sensory Impairment Teacher
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Work Setting: Itinerant – travel between schools and districts throughout the day
Annual Salary: $42,544 – $65,897
Schedule: 40 hours/week | 10-month work calendar
Mileage: Travel between school locations is reimbursed
What You’ll Do
• Provide high-quality instruction to students with sensory impairments.
• Develop and implement daily lesson plans.
• Evaluate student skills and determine appropriate educational programs.
• Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with students, families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support student development through effective instruction and behavior-management strategies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, with coursework specific to sensory impairments.
• Arizona Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsement for the position.
• For Teacher of Orientation & Mobility (O&M) positions, ACVREP certification may be accepted in lieu of Arizona Department of Education certification.
• Required coursework for secondary teaching positions, as applicable.
• Ability to pass FBI and Arizona State background checks.
• Strong communication, organization, planning, student evaluation, and teamwork skills.
