Saturday ELA Tutor – Part-Time
We are seeking a Part-Time Saturday ELA Tutor to provide academic support to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students at a local school in the Austin, TX area during the 2026–2027 school year.
Location: Austin, TX Area
Schedule: Saturdays, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
Assignment Period: Every Saturday that school is in session through the end of April 2027
Position: Part-Time ELA Tutor
Grade Levels: 3rd, 4th & 5th Grade
About the Position
The ELA Tutor will work directly with elementary students in a small-group setting to provide targeted English Language Arts tutoring and academic support.
The tutor will help students strengthen their reading, writing, comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and other foundational ELA skills while creating a positive and structured learning environment.
Responsibilities
• Provide small-group ELA tutoring and academic support
• Work with 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students
• Support reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing, and communication skills
• Identify and address individual student learning gaps
• Reinforce classroom ELA instruction and foundational literacy skills
• Monitor and document student progress
• Provide engaging and age-appropriate academic activities
• Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment
• Communicate and collaborate with school staff as needed
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong knowledge of elementary English Language Arts
• Experience working with elementary-age students
• Previous teaching, tutoring, intervention, or academic support experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively work with small groups of students
• Reliable and able to commit to the Saturday schedule
• Passion for supporting student learning and academic growth
Important Assignment Information
This is a school-based, need-dependent Saturday assignment. The tutor is expected to work 9:00 AM–12:00 PM every Saturday that school is in session through the end of April 2027, based on the participating school's academic calendar.
Placement and assignment continuation are based on school needs, student enrollment, funding, and program requirements.
