Job Description Job Description We are seeking a dynamic and engaging High School History Teacher to lead courses in Social Studies, U.S. History, and related historical subjects. This part-time role is ideal for an educator passionate about fostering critical thinking, historical literacy, and civic engagement in a supportive academic environment. Schedule & Hours Total Weekly Hours: 22 hours per week Monday – Thursday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM Friday: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instruction in U.S. History, Social Studies, and related history electives. Develop inclusive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that encourage active student participation and analytical thinking. Assess and grade student coursework, essays, exams, and projects, providing constructive and timely feedback. Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment conducive to learning and respectful discussion. Track student progress and communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and administration regarding academic performance. Utilize educational technology and varied instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in History, History Education, Social Studies, or a related field (Master’s preferred). State teaching certification/license in Secondary Social Studies or History (or eligibility to obtain). Prior experience teaching high school history or student teaching at the secondary level. Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to commit to the specified afternoon and Friday schedule consistently.
