Job Description
Remnant Christian Schools is seeking an engaging, experienced part-time teacher to work with middle and high school students at our private Christian school.
The ideal candidate is a committed Christian who is strong at classroom management, enjoys working with teenagers, and knows how to make learning engaging through discussion, questions, and group activities rather than long lectures.
Curriculum and lesson materials are provided. We need someone who can take an established lesson and bring it to life while maintaining a warm, orderly, and focused classroom.
Responsibilities
• Teach a mixture of American History, English, and Literature.
• Implement provided curriculum and lesson plans.
• Lead engaging lessons, discussions, and group activities.
• Maintain strong classroom management, including appropriate discipline when needed.
• Read assigned literature and facilitate meaningful student discussions.
• Discuss Scripture, Christian theology, and biblical worldview when appropriate.
• Grade essays and assignments using our custom technology and AI-assisted grading tools.
• Follow school procedures and work collaboratively with school leadership.
What We're Looking For
• A committed Christian who supports the school's biblical mission and values.
• Previous experience successfully teaching, leading, or managing groups of middle or high school students.
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to be both firm and gentle.
• An engaging teaching style that encourages student participation.
• Familiarity with American History and Literature.
• Familiarity with the Bible and comfort discussing Christian theology.
• Willingness to read assigned books and prepare for classroom discussions.
• Flexibility and willingness to follow an established curriculum and instructional approach.
• Comfortable learning basic educational technology and AI-assisted tools. Advanced technical skills are not required.
This is not an entry-level classroom position. We are specifically seeking someone with previous experience successfully engaging and managing groups of teenagers.
Pay: $32-$36 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Independent contractor position.
