Job Description
Position: Recreation Leader
Qualifications: Child Care Experience
High school diploma/G.E.D.
Afternoon hours must be available to work Monday through Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Previous experience working directly with children a plus. Some examples may include after school programs, summer camps, parks and recreation programs, volunteer programs.
Pass a background check.
Reliability and punctuality a must.
General Duties include the following:
Classroom Management
Follow a daily schedule which includes implementing planned activities.
Provide supervision for up to 18 children.
Manage student behavior through positive classroom management techniques.
Communication
Maintains positive working relationships with coworkers, direct managers and all other school personnel.
Maintain confidentiality in regards to student and family information.
Maintain professional written/oral communication with families, students and guardians.
Program Operations
Abide by all guidelines and policies set forth by the Board of Education
Set up and clean assigned spaces daily
Maintain organization of classroom supplies and storage areas
Perform assigned duties and accept direction from management
Professional Skills
Energetic, interactive, engaging and motivated!
Provide excellent supervision skills while engaging with children at the same time.
The ability to multitask.
Demonstrate flexibility and openness to new ideas in childcare practices and philosophy.
Physical Demands include lifting, reaching, bending, climbing, sitting, walking, and fully participate in all activities.
Responds immediately and appropriately to unexpected or emergency situations.
Maintains mental and physical alertness and appropriate level of energy at all times.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.32 per hour
