Job Summary Job Summary The After School Teacher/Instructor will work directly with a group of students, providing homework assistance, academic support and enrichment activities after school on site at KIPP Bayview Elementary. Program leaders' ability to establish authority through leadership, communication, and most importantly patience, is essential to success. Must be able to commit to working throughout the entire school year.

Reports to: Extended Learning Opportunity Program Director. Requirements / Qualifications A minimum of 1-2 years work experience in a youth development organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience. Education/certifications: Title I paraprofessionals whose duties include instructional support must have: High School diploma Plus ONE of the following: A.A

degree B.A. degree (or minimum 48 units in process) Pass the ETS ParaPro Assessment (passing score = 460) Passing CBEST Exams Knowledge/skills required: Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to deal effectively with youth from diverse backgrounds, including discipline problems

Demonstrated ability working with young people, parents and community leaders.
