Greater Youth Sports Association (GYSA) is seeking a passionate, dependable, and energetic Head Flag Football Coach to lead our elementary school Flag Football program at Futuro Academy.
This is an excellent opportunity for both new and experienced coaches who are passionate about youth development, leadership, and making a positive impact through sports. As a GYSA Head Coach, you'll help young athletes develop football fundamentals, confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character in a fun and supportive environment.
Position Details
• Stipend: $1,000
• Season Begins: September 1, 2026
• Location: Futuro Academy
• Age Group: Elementary School (Grades 3–5)
• Practices: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays
• Practice Length: 60–90 minutes
• Game Days: Saturdays (September 12 – October 24) *Offsite
Responsibilities
• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate Flag Football practices.
• Teach football fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all athletes.
• Coach games on Saturdays and encourage player development over winning.
• Communicate effectively with parents and GYSA staff.
• Serve as a positive role model both on and off the field.
• Help foster a fun and rewarding experience for every participant.
Qualifications
We're looking for coaches who are:
• Passionate about working with youth
• Positive, dependable, and enthusiastic
• Strong communicators and team leaders
• Organized and punctual
• Comfortable leading groups of elementary-aged children
Previous coaching or playing experience is preferred but not required. We welcome first-time coaches who have a desire to learn and make a difference.
Requirements
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check
• Completion of GYSA Head Coach Training before the season begins
