Job Description
North Bridge Academy is a small, non-profit school for students with dyslexia in grades 2 through 8. Our Van Driver/Program Support Staff are responsible for safely transporting students to and from school. We have routes in San Francisco, San Anselmo, San Rafael, Novato, Tiburon and Berkeley. When not driving, Van Driver/Program Support staff assist in classrooms or with tasks around the school.
*** This route is serving Berkeley, so ideally the Van Driver would reside in the East Bay and have a safe space to park the school van in the evenings.
Duties:
- Safely operate a van to transport students to and from school
- Provide support in classrooms or around school
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to the appropriate authorities
- Provide excellent communication with parents and school administration
Experience:
- Previous experience as a van driver or in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with local roads in the East Bay, Marin and San Francisco and local traffic patterns.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
