Job Description
We are looking for a leader who is motivated by helping other leaders reach their potential. Our new Director of Programs (ES/MS) will specialize in the unique needs of our Elementary/Middle School students, supervise experienced regional managers, oversee significant dollar budgets, and work directly with school district administration. You must have creative instincts for engaging students that have been honed from at least five years' experience in the field of extended learning or after school.
The successful candidate is articulate, highly intelligent, creative, and a problem solver with exceptional interpersonal skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Supervise Regional Managers and Site Coordinators at comprehensive after-school sites, which include public, charter, and private schools.
• Ensure all sites maintain required target (or higher) ADA, creatively designing and implementing plans of action to improve program quality and increase enrollment.
• Identify and develop emerging leaders.
• Serve as point of contact for school and district administrators. Develop and maintain relationships to ensure continuity and retention of business.
• Identify and streamline inefficient systems, focusing on operations and scalability.
• Facilitate long-term strategic planning to grow and develop new avenues for expansion.
• Generate new business opportunities through community networking, client relations, attending sales meetings.
• Develop a virtual rolodex of community partners for high-quality enrichment across sites, identify new clients.
• Manage budgetary aspects of sites, which includes developing and monitoring budgets with Regional Managers and Site Coordinators, tracking expenses monthly and ensuring budgets are strictly maintained.
• Oversee staff training and development throughout the year.
• Ensure compliance is met at district and grant levels; maintain accurate records of all district-level trainings, employee attendance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
• Provide training and development to employees, during introductory employment period and ongoing at routine staff development meetings and during site reviews.
• Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A collaborative team player with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work under deadlines is expected.
• Willingness to work occasional early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
• Able to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in student, staff, and management matters.
• Comfortable speaking to groups in public
• Required local travel (Southern California) for site visits, staff training, and other related events. Must have a reliable method of transportation.
• Must pass Live Scan (fingerprint and background check), show negative tuberculosis test, and be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
• 5+ years of experience managing multiple school sites.
• BA in education or related field highly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills expected with capacity to interact with outside vendors and other members of the community.
• Close attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with big-picture thinking.
• At least 2-4 years in leadership or staff development; leadership experience in education desirable.
• Ability to coach Regional Managers and Site Coordinators in their performance.
Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 Salary/year
