We are currently looking for a full-time Pre-K Co-Teacher for our Preschool.

Located at 3003 A Street, San Diego, 92102.

• Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

The ideal candidate is caring, collaborative, dependable, and passionate about helping young children grow academically, socially, and emotionally while creating a positive and engaging classroom environment.

Hourly Payment: Teachers $19.00 – $22.00 per hour

- Hourly pay is determined based on experience

- We are a year-round school, closed for all federal holidays, with eleven of them paid. We are also closed the day after Thanksgiving, for a Winter break, and for one week each in Spring and Summer.

- Kinder Mission offers a 401K.

- For every 30 hours worked, you accrue one hour of sick or personal leave

- Health insurance is also provided.

The teacher-to-student ratio is 1:7.

Qualifications We Are Looking For

• 12 ECE Units required (Human Growth and Development, The Child Family and Community, and Program Curriculum)

• Six months of teaching experience

• 15 hours of Health and Safety training

• CPR/First Aid certified and a negative TB Test

• A High School diploma or equivalent

• Ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Ability to speak, read, and write English

• Additional languages, particularly Spanish and German, are preferred

• An interest in music is also preferred

Responsibilities include

• Follow a full schedule of activities

• Prepare Children for Kindergarten

• Balance your teaching between logical and social exercises

• Provide primary care and caregiving activities

• Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing, etc.) to enhance the child's abilities.

• Evaluate children's performance to make sure they are on the right learning track

• Remain in constant communication with parents and update them on the progress of their children

• Observe children's interactions and promote the spirit of concord

• Have meetings with parents

• Have meetings with speech pathologists and occupational therapists

• Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action

• Collaborate with other colleagues

• Adhere to teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the official sources

• Follow a daily schedule

• Leading activities and art projects

• Identifying and preparing suitable age-appropriate teaching materials
