Elementary Classroom Teacher – 5th Grade
Position Purpose
Career Success Schools is seeking a dedicated 5th Grade Elementary Classroom Teacher to join our team. Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the teacher will facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district-approved curriculum, assessing student progress, and creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment. Teachers provide instruction, guidance, and feedback to students while collaborating with colleagues and communicating with families to support student achievement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and instructional goals.
• Deliver engaging instruction that supports individual, small group, and whole-class learning.
• Assess student learning regularly and modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and responsible behavior.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades in accordance with school policies and applicable laws.
• Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding student progress, expectations, and concerns.
• Encourage parental involvement in students' education and maintain effective communication with families.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams and other staff to evaluate curriculum and support student learning.
• Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school committees.
• Administer standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, field trips, and other school activities.
• Implement classroom management strategies that promote safety, organization, and productive learning.
• Collaborate with specialists and support staff to assist students with unique learning needs.
• Monitor and support the work of teacher assistants and classroom volunteers when applicable.
• Notify administrators of student needs that require additional support or intervention.
• Select and maintain instructional materials, supplies, and classroom resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designated administrators.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of elementary curriculum, instructional strategies, and differentiated instruction.
• Understanding of data analysis and use of student performance data to guide instruction.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws related to education and student services.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to create a supportive classroom culture that promotes student engagement and responsibility.
• Ability to organize, plan, and manage classroom activities effectively.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and support staff to meet student needs.
• Ability to use computers, educational technology, and student data systems.
Minimum Requirements
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related field
• Valid Arizona Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
• Arizona Teaching Certificate
• Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
• Master's Degree in Education or related field
• Experience with Project-Based Learning
• Experience with virtual and in-person instruction
• Three or more years of teaching experience
• Experience working with culturally, ethnically, and linguistically diverse student populations
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in a classroom and school setting. The position may require supervision of students in various school environments including classrooms, playgrounds, hallways, buses, and school events.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel to district buildings, meetings, and professional development events may be required.
