ABOUT OUTER VILLAGE

Outer Village is a family community space in the Outer Sunset β€” part neighborhood shop, part playroom, part village square. Everything we do is built around the idea that parents and caregivers deserve a place to breathe, and kids and parents both deserve a whole village to lean on.

Our after-school program at 45th Ave is a warm, small, intentional space for kids ages 4–8. We keep groups small, prioritize connection over performance, and care a lot about who shows up for our kids every day.

THE ROLE

We're looking for someone who loves kids, loves language, and knows how to make learning feel like playing. You'll be supporting our after-school Spanish enrichment program.

You'll work Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri. 1:30-5 and Wed. 12:30-5; with a mix of language instruction, homework support, and general after-school programming. If you're bilingual, thoughtful and energetic we want to meet you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

β†’ Support Spanish acquisition through direct communication and supportive teaching practices (we use a song, game, and conversation-based approach along with weekly dedicated lesson time)

β†’ Bring your own personality, ideas, and activities.

β†’ Supervise homework time and support kids across a range of grades and learning styles

β†’ Help facilitate afternoon activities, creative play, outdoor time and snack time

β†’ Communicate regularly with our program leaders and flag anything that the team or parents need to know.

β†’ Build real relationships with our kids and their caregivers.

YOU'RE A GREAT FIT IF...

β†’ You're a strong Spanish speaker

β†’ You have experience working with elementary-age kids in any setting β€” school, camp, community programs, babysitting etc.

β†’ You're patient with wiggly, tired, post-school kids and genuinely enjoy that energy

β†’ You can follow a daily routine while making it your own

β†’ You're reliable, communicative, and the kind of person parents trust immediately

β†’ You want a consistent part-time schedule and a community to be part of with room to grow.

BONUS POINTS FOR

β†’ Background in education, child development, or a related field

β†’ Experience with language immersion or second-language acquisition

β†’ CPR / First Aid certification

β†’ Ties to the Outer Sunset or SF family community

WHAT WE OFFER

β†’ $25–$30/hour depending on experience β€” paid biweekly

β†’ A consistent Monday–Friday schedule

β†’ A small, warm team that take care of each other and have fun

β†’ Real autonomy within a clear structure

β†’ A community you'll want to be part of β€” our families are the good kind

β†’ CPR/First Aid certification covered if needed
