Robert M. Responsibilities

• Teach a schedule consisting primarily of high school English Language Arts courses.

• Teach courses such as:

• High School English On Level

• High School Honors English

• AP English Language or AP English Literature

• Middle School English Language Arts

• Develop engaging lessons that strengthen students' reading, writing, analytical thinking, speaking, listening, and communication skills

• Foster a love of literature while helping students become thoughtful readers, effective writers, and confident communicators

• Differentiate instruction to support a variety of learning styles and abilities

• Create a positive, respectful, and academically rigorous classroom environment

• Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments

• Provide timely and meaningful feedback that supports student growth and academic achievement

• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom expectations

• Collaborate with faculty and administration to support curricular goals, interdisciplinary learning, and school initiatives

• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, student activities, and other school programming as appropriate

• Perform other instructional and school-related duties as assigned by the administration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, English Education, Literature, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred

• Teaching certification and/or prior classroom experience preferred

• Experience teaching high school English Language Arts required

• Experience teaching AP English Language or AP English Literature preferred

• Strong classroom management and organizational skills

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• Passion for working with adolescents and supporting both their academic and personal growth

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
