Purcell Public Schools is seeking an energetic and dedicated leader to join our Junior High administrative team as Assistant Principal. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, productive, and positive learning environment for our 6th-8th-grade students.
As we unveil new bond-funded facilities-including our brand-new FEMA gymnasium and multi-purpose space-the Assistant Principal will play a key role in managing new campus logistics and fostering the "Dragon Strong" culture. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about middle-level education and excels at building relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Key Responsibilities
Student Conduct & Support: Lead the implementation of the student code of conduct, focusing on fair and consistent restorative practices and disciplinary actions.
Attendance Management: Monitor and manage student attendance and truancy programs to ensure maximum student engagement.
Instructional Support: Conduct teacher observations and evaluations (TLE) to support professional growth and academic excellence.
Operational Leadership: Assist the Building Principal in daily operations, including supervising lunchrooms, hallways, athletic events, and extracurricular activities.
Safety Coordination: Assist in the planning and execution of safety drills.
Required Qualifications Education: Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or Administration.
Certification: Valid Oklahoma School Principal Certificate (Standard or Provisional).
Preferred Qualifications Experience: Significant classroom teaching experience. Previous leadership experience (Team Lead, Dept. Chair, or Administration) is preferred.
Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to de-escalate conflict, proficiency in student information systems, Professional Learning Communities, and data-focused decision making.
