2026-27 Religious School Faculty Job Description Elementary Faculty

Congregation Beth Israel is currently seeking lower elementary grades teachers (grades K-2nd) for the 2026-27 school year. Elementary Grade teachers are part of a grade level team, and are responsible for approximately 12-15 students. A teen madrichim, teaching assistant, works in every classroom assisting teachers and working with the students. Elementary students also attend arts classes during the morning sessions taught by art specialists in music, visual arts, drama, and dance. Classes occur on Sunday mornings from 9:00-12:30PM. Please see the school calendar and session dates.

All applicants should count on teaching throughout the school year from September 27, 2026 – May 16, 2027

Hebrew language knowledge is not necessary for all of the teaching positions. Teachers with the ability to teach beginning Hebrew do have additional opportunities to teach online or in person during the week.

Teaching at CBI is a fun way to engage in the Jewish community, be part of a dynamic faculty, and work with amazing students in an arts integrated Jewish studies environment. The Elementary Grade teachers will be supported by the Director of Education and CBI staff to help them have a successful experience as part of the teaching faculty. Estimated Monthly Hours (Sundays Only): 14hrs. minimum

Estimated Monthly Hours (Sunday and Virtual Hebrew): 32 hrs. minimum

Hourly Pay Range Sunday only: $26-$33
