Griffin School, an arts-rich college preparatory high school community defined by academic rigor and creativity, is seeking a passionate and experienced teaching artist for a part time (approx 6-hours per week) theatre teaching position.

Schedule: The school operates on a traditional high school calendar. The 2026-27 school year starts for staff members on Aug 10 and ends in late May 2027 with typical school holidays throughout the year.
This is a part-time position for two specific assignments:
• A Theatre elective course that meets on Tues and Thurs 2:30-4:00
• Directing our fall and spring play productions. Rehearsals meet throughout the semester on Tues & Thurs 4:15-6:15pm. There are significant tech week rehearsal sessions in the week leading up to performances which are typically scheduled on Friday nights and Saturdays in early-November (performances on Nov 7) and late-April (performances on May 1).
Pay scale is $100 per class (includes 90-min class plus prep time as needed).
Experience required:
• Directing full-length play productions at the high school, collegiate, and/or professional level
• Experience overseeing and coordinating all aspects of a school play production (set design, props curation, costume curation, lighting design, etc.)
• Teaching Theatre at the high school and/or collegiate level including effective and creative lesson planning, leading engaging lessons, differentiating for experience level, and helping students develop as theatre practitioners in diverse areas (e.g. acting, writing, and directing)
