Certified Teacher (Grades 6–9)

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Position Overview

Crayons to Credits is seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Teacher to provide engaging, individualized instruction for students in grades 6–9, with the opportunity to support higher grade levels for candidates who are comfortable teaching advanced coursework.

The ideal candidate has experience differentiating instruction, collaborating with families and professionals, and creating meaningful learning experiences that meet students where they are academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities

• -Provide engaging small-group instruction during 2-hour sessions (5:1 student-to-teacher ratio)

• -Teach core academic subjects for students in grades 6–9

• -Support higher grade levels and high school coursework when appropriate and comfortable

• -Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learning needs and abilities

• -Develop and adapt lesson plans based on student progress and engagement

• -Implement evidence-based instructional strategies

• -Adjust instruction in real time to support student success

• -Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

• -Build strong, trusting relationships with students

• -Support students' social-emotional growth through encouragement, modeling, and guided interaction

• -Collaborate with parents, therapists, and educational professionals to support student goals

• -Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation

• -Utilize assistive technology and specialized instructional materials when appropriate

• -Prepare lesson materials and maintain an organized learning environment

• -Communicate regularly with leadership regarding student progress and classroom needs

Qualifications

• -Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field

• -Valid Florida teaching certificate or eligibility for certification preferred

• -Experience teaching middle school students (grades 6–9)

• -Comfortable teaching higher grade levels or high school coursework is a plus

• -Experience working with neurodivergent learners, including students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other learning differences

• -Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and accommodations

• -Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills

• -Flexible, patient, organized, and solution-oriented

• -Strong communication and collaboration skills

• -Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team environment

Education

• Bachelor's degree (Required)

Experience

• Teaching: 2 years (Preferred)
