Role Description The ASEP Associate Teacher is a part-time, on-site role located in Charlotte, NC, supporting students in the After School Enrichment Program. This role involves assisting with planning and leading age-appropriate activities that promote academic support, social-emotional development, and enrichment in a safe and inclusive environment. Daily responsibilities include supervising students, reinforcing classroom expectations, supporting homework and learning activities, and maintaining positive communication with students, families, and school staff. The ASEP Associate Teacher helps implement program routines, ensures adherence to district policies and safety procedures, and contributes to a welcoming, respectful environment for all participants.
Qualifications
• Foundational knowledge in Education and Child Development to support student learning and growth.
• Skills in Lesson Planning and activity design to create engaging, age-appropriate enrichment experiences.
• Strong Teaching and Training abilities to guide students, reinforce skills, and support academic success.
• Effective Communication skills for interacting professionally with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
• Ability to maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured environment for diverse groups of students.
• Prior experience working with school-age children in educational or youth program settings is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in education or a related field is a plus.
• Reliability in adhering to scheduled hours and program procedures, including background checks and district compliance requirements.
