Role and Responsibilities:

As a Reading Private Tutor, you will guide students through essential reading strategies, build foundational literacy skills, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs. You will create engaging lessons that support comprehension, vocabulary growth, and reading confidence.
• Develop and deliver individualized reading lessons based on each student’s skill level and goals.
• Lead students through reading comprehension strategies including summarizing, predicting, and identifying key ideas.
• Support learners in building vocabulary, phonics skills, and reading fluency.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
• Adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and reading challenges.
• Communicate with students and families to establish learning objectives and track advancement.
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes confidence and curiosity.

Required Skills and Experience:
• Strong understanding of literacy development and reading instruction.
• Experience tutoring or teaching reading at various grade or skill levels.
• Ability to explain reading strategies in a clear, accessible way.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for motivating and guiding learners.
• Organizational skills for planning sessions and tracking student growth.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Background in Education, English, Literacy Studies, or a related field.
• Experience supporting students with reading difficulties or learning differences.
• Teaching or tutoring certifications in literacy or language arts.
