Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate) - Escondido, CA
$70 Hourly + Comprehensive Benefits | Start Date: August 13, 2026
Are you a passionate Special Education Teacher looking to make a meaningful impact in students' lives? We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (Mild/Moderate) to join a supportive educational team in Escondido, California.
Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher will provide high-quality educational services to students in grades K-12. This role collaborates with educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement individualized programs that help students achieve academic and personal success.
Responsibilities
• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
• Provide tutorial assistance and instructional support
• Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
• Participate in team meetings and educational planning sessions
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
• Valid state teaching credential as required by state and district regulations
• Minimum one year of classroom teaching experience preferred
• Standard Elementary Teaching Certification preferred
• Standard Secondary Teaching Certification preferred
• Standard Special Education Teaching Certification preferred
• Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred
• Ability to comply with all professional standards of practice
• Current CPR certification, if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable
• Current health certificate, if required by state or district regulations
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
