Job Description – Health Teacher (2026–2027 School Year)

ASTEC Charter Schools is a growing public school district located in Oklahoma City serving a highly diverse student population.

ASTEC is seeking a Health Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. We are currently a 6th–12th grade campus, and we encourage applications from candidates with experience across all secondary grade levels. We are looking for a professional, dedicated educator with strong technology skills, excellent organization, and the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, administrators, and students.

Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate strong classroom management skills, knowledge of health education standards, and effective instructional practices. The ideal candidate will be able to engage students, support positive behavior, and plan meaningful lessons aligned to state standards.

Responsibilities:

• Teach health curriculum to middle and high school students

• Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with state standards

• Assess student progress and communicate effectively with parents/guardians

• Adjust instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs

• Evaluate and improve instructional materials and programs

• Demonstrate knowledge of current educational theory and best practices

• Respond appropriately to emergencies, including injuries, weapons, drugs, or other school safety concerns

Job Details:

• Job Type: Full-time

• Salary: From $41,500.00 per year (based on experience and education)

• Contract Year: 2026–2027 School Year (187 working days)
