Starting Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 /year based on experience

Environment: Special Education Program, Grades 6-12

In this role, you will lead educational initiatives for students in Grades 6-12 with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), crafting engaging and personalized learning experiences tailored to their unique needs. You'll implement creative curriculum resources, utilize educational technology, and design effective lesson plans that align with state and school standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Fostering an inclusive atmosphere that engages students, parents, and staff in the learning process.
• Building a respectful classroom environment that prioritizes social growth and accountability, while implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
• Documenting and tracking student progress, maintaining essential records, and preparing detailed reports.
• Delivering targeted instruction in a co-teaching framework to meet the educational goals specified in IEPs.
• Adapting instructional methods and materials to suit various learning styles and abilities.
• Utilizing diverse teaching strategies and resources to meet the unique needs and interests of students.
• Managing student caseloads, including the development and execution of IEPs and relevant interventions.
• Preparing organized lesson plans and instructional materials aligned with curriculum standards.
• Maintaining a safe, welcoming, and organized classroom environment.
• Engaging in continuous professional development and responding constructively to feedback.
• Contributing positively to the school community through additional assigned duties.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education, or a related field.
• Current or in-process validation of an IL state professional educator (PEL) credential.
• Current or in-process validation of an IL state special education instruction (SEE) credential.
• Ability to obtain certification in crisis management training.
• Experience in curriculum development, specifically in special education or behavioral health settings.
• Knowledge of special education services and compliance for various disabilities.
• Experience working with IEPs.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in relevant technologies and instructional tools.
