Position Overview
PURE Academy is a college-preparatory private school in Memphis, Tennessee, that provides a personalized learning
environment through innovative, project-based instruction. PURE Academy aligns Tennessee academic standards with an interdisciplinary curriculum designed to help students connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
As PURE Academy continues expanding its focus on AgriSTEM, college and career readiness, and athletics, we seek
passionate, innovative educators in ELA/History (Humanities), Mathematics, Agriculture, Science, and Career &
Technical Education (CTE) who are committed to creating engaging, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences.
Teachers at PURE Academy help students make authentic connections between academic content, agriculture,
sustainability, technology, leadership, athletics, and future career pathways while maintaining a rigorous
college-preparatory environment.
PURE Academy teachers create trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and student-centered classrooms where
academics, character development, and athletics work together to prepare students for success in college, careers, and life.
All teachers report directly to the Principal and collaborate closely with school leadership, instructional staff, and
community partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate in a strong team environment to:
• Establish and maintain a positive, engaging high school learning environment conducive to student success.
• Plan and deliver rigorous instruction aligned to Tennessee academic standards and course objectives.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students.
• Utilize data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Integrate literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving strategies across instruction.
• Connect learning to authentic, real-world experiences, including agriculture, STEM, leadership, career pathways, and athletics when appropriate.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, professional learning, and school improvement initiatives.
• Assess student learning using a variety of formative and summative measures.
• Communicate student progress effectively with students, families, and staff.
• Maintain accurate lesson plans, grades, attendance, and required documentation.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and collaborative planning.
• Support summer learning opportunities and school-wide initiatives as needed.
• Assist with student supervision and contribute positively to school culture beyond the classroom.
Other Duties
• Sponsor student organizations, clubs, or extracurricular activities as appropriate.
• Support athletic, community, and school-wide events as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or the applicable content area required.
• Master’s degree and/or prior teaching experience preferred.
• Active Tennessee teaching license (or eligibility for licensure) in the applicable endorsement area preferred.
• Experience working with diverse student populations is a plus.
Preferred Certification Areas
We are currently seeking educators with certification or expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• English Language Arts (Grades 6-12)/Humanities
• History or Social Studies
• Mathematics
• Agriculture Education
• Science (Biology, Physical Science, Environmental Science, or related disciplines)
• Career & Technical Education (CTE)
