Job Description
WISH Charter is a free public, independent, non-profit, charter school authorized by the Los Angeles Unified School District. WISH is a fully inclusive school that provides an engaging learning environment to children of all needs and abilities within the general education setting.
The WISH mission is to maximize every scholar's learning potential within an atmosphere of caring and belonging. The WISH instructional philosophy rests upon the concepts of hands-on learning, meaningful instructional activities, systematic instruction, and a collaborative group of professionals working together to make the learning environment exciting for students. Evidence-based teaching strategies will be tailored to meet individual development.
WISH has two independent charter schools:
• WISH Community School which serves grades TK-8 on two campuses
• WISH Academy High School which serves 9- 12 grade students on one campus
Job Type: Part-time, 25 - 27.5 hours weekly
Compensation: DOE $18-$21.66 per hour
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be fully Vaccinated against COVID - 19

Paraprofessional Job Description
• Under the supervision of highly qualified teachers, assists with instruction and reinforces learning experiences
• Assists students with special needs, such as those related to positioning, restroom support, feeding, grooming, and mobility (may be required to lift and position students with special physical needs)
• Assists and supervises individual and groups of students in the classroom and other school environments (such as playground) and in transitions from place-to-place
• Attends professional development opportunities offered by WISH
• Assists in observing and recording data related to behavior and IEP goal achievement of students
• Assists in implementing positive behavioral support strategies
• Facilitates positive social interactions among students
• Participates in staff development activities as appropriate
• Performs related duties as assigned
