EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Valid educator license preferred, substitute permit required. Successful classroom teaching experience preferred.

STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To facilitate the HOSTS program to meet students' learning needs and provide support for mentors.
Duties And Responsibilities
• Assists in identifying students for the program
• Creates student plans
• Gathers and organizes materials for each child's lesson
• Prepares each child's folder for tutoring session
• Facilitates daily mentoring sessions with mentors and students
• Catalogues, organizes, and inventories all program books and materials
• Communicates with classroom teachers and administrators about student progress and goals
• Participates in mentor recruitment and training
• Communicates with mentors
• Ensures proper mentor or substitute mentor coverage in the classroom
• Maintains the tutoring environment through classroom set-up, organization, and coordination with HOSTS Team
• Works with students in small groups or individually when there is a shortage of volunteers
• Helps maintain discipline during tutoring sessions
• Collaborates with the HOSTS team to accomplish district program goals, including hospitality, communication, recruitment, and training of mentors
• Completes annual employee training
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Requires the ability to sit with intermittent occasional walking, standing, bending, and squatting
• Requires the ability to stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear, see, and speak daily
• Requires the ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading
• Occasionally required to lift or carry supplies, textbooks, furniture, and equipment of a minimum of 35 pounds

SALARY: $26.50/hour
HOURS / DAY: 3.5 hours/day
