Position Overview Statement
The individual selected will work a flexible schedule so they are available for student, parent, district and community activities and programs outside the regular school day. The process of selective interviewing will be used.
Essential Duties
The list below is intended to describe the essential duties performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all
responsibilities and/or required duties. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Work with teachers on the improvement of instruction in activities such as co-teaching, co-planning, conferencing, presenting professional development to staff, providing feedback to staff, supporting research-based mathematics pedagogy in classrooms, etc.
• Assist teachers with student diagnostic tests
• Conduct diagnostic interviews with selected students and assist teachers with student diagnostic tests
• Collect student assessment data and use this data in helping the staff set goals, plan strategies, and implement action steps to address areas of need
• Document work performed and meetings/conferences attended
• Attend all professional development meetings and conferences delivered by district personnel or the technical assistance team
• This position requires flexible hours that may vary from the normal teacher workday You may need to meet with teachers before or after school as part of the position
• Special training is required.
• Regular training sessions will be held which bring together all coaches
Required Minimum Qualifications
Valid Ohio Elementary Teaching certification/license
• Evidence of exemplary mathematics instruction
• Minimum of three years of successful elementary teaching experience in an urban school district
• Proven success in effectively teaching mathematics to urban children
