Position Summary

The Student Success Teacher – Special Education provides specialized virtual instruction, case management, and compliance oversight for students with disabilities while ensuring all federal, state, and school requirements are met.

This educator partners closely with general education teachers, Success Coaches, related service providers, administrators, and families to develop individualized learning experiences that promote academic achievement, graduation, and lifelong success.

Essential Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Provide specialized virtual instruction aligned to student IEP goals.
• Deliver accommodations and modifications that support student success.
• Monitor student progress and maintain documentation toward IEP goals.
• Ensure compliance with IDEA, Oklahoma State Department of Education requirements, and ThrivePoint Academy policies.
• Facilitate eligibility meetings, annual reviews, reevaluations, and transition planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely special education records and documentation.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, Success Coaches, related service providers, families, and administrators.
• Communicate consistently with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
• Utilize technology to engage students and deliver high-quality virtual instruction.
• Contribute to a collaborative, student-centered culture focused on student achievement.
• Adapt to the evolving needs of an innovative and growing public charter school.

Required Qualifications
• Current Oklahoma Special Education Teaching Certificate with the appropriate special education endorsement(s).
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Thorough knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, Oklahoma special education regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, documentation, and case management skills.
• Ability to provide effective instruction in a virtual learning environment.
• Strong technology proficiency and the ability to learn new instructional platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience serving middle and high school students.
• Previous virtual teaching experience.
• Experience working with students who are under-credited, over-aged, or otherwise at-promise.
• Experience with transition planning, credit recovery, and alternative education.
• Collaborative, flexible, and solution-oriented approach to supporting students.
