Job Description

St. James’ Episcopal School is looking for a full-time Technology & Design Thinking teacher for students in grades K-6 for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will take a student-centered approach to all school work and will use the School’s mission to support the academic, extracurricular, social, and emotional success of students.

We are looking for a Technology & Design Thinking teacher who is confident in their ability to:
• Design and implement a creative, engaging curriculum for students in grades K-6 that teaches design thinking and coding.
• Teach word processing/typing, media literacy, and digital citizenship to all students.
• Monitor students’ use of technology in the classroom.
• Design and deliver comprehensive individual and group projects with in-depth and rubric-based feedback to students and families.
• Partner closely with other teachers to foster an interdisciplinary approach to instruction which includes substantial writing, project-based learning, and service-learning.
• Partner with the School Librarian around media literacy and other technology topics.
• Communicate and use clear assessment practices and provide regular feedback to students and families.
• Regularly maintain the digital student gradebook of each student.
• Write comprehensive narratives for each child and hold family conferences two times a year.
• Fulfill assigned pick-up, drop-off, lunch, and recess coverage duties.
• Participate enthusiastically in the greater life of the school.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with a masters preferred. Experience in the field is advantageous. This opportunity requires excellent strategies and skills in communication, collaboration, and organization with an appreciation for confidentiality, equity, belonging, and professional growth.
