Job Description
Overview: LifeWise seeks passionate Secondary Education Teachers to inspire students in grades 9-12. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong Bible knowledge and exceptional teaching skills. We are looking for individuals who are active in their church community, possess excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and show a genuine care for their students.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree (required)
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a classroom, either in a school or church setting
• A mature personal Christian faith, aligned with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Active participation in a local church that reflects the beliefs stated in the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
Job Description:
• Complete Initial and Ongoing Training.
• Finish the LifeWise Teacher Certification Course within 30 days of the start date and prior to teaching.
• Participate annually in the LifeWise Summit.
• Attend at least one Teachers' Lounge or LifeWise Meet-Up each year.
• Stay informed by regularly checking LifeWise emails for updates and training information.
• Teach LifeWise Classes: Deliver the provided curriculum with enthusiasm, developing meaningful connections with students through mentorship and prayer.
• Create an engaging classroom atmosphere, utilizing diverse teaching strategies and maintaining a redemptive discipline approach.
• Maintain Records: Track and communicate grades to school office staff for student records. Keep accurate attendance and class rosters, noting health concerns and special needs.
• Prepare lesson plans and materials for substitutes as needed.
• Maintain the Classroom: Encourage a culture of learning that promotes spiritual growth. Keep the classroom organized, attractive, and well-ordered.
• Know emergency procedures and prepare accordingly.
• Purchase necessary classroom supplies within the budget provided by the program director.
• Communicate: Serve as a LifeWise ambassador in the community, attending events and maintaining dialogue with school personnel regarding schedule changes and student needs.
• Foster relationships with volunteers, keeping them informed of any schedule updates.
• Share regular updates, stories, and photos with the program director.
• Promote LifeWise's religious mission in all professional interactions, ensuring alignment with the organization's values.
