Join Milton Hershey School (MHS), a renowned institution dedicated to providing a cost-free, career-focused education for over 2,200 pre-K through 12th grade students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Established in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, MHS is fully endowed thanks to their generosity and has since celebrated over 12,000 graduates. We are looking for dedicated couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents.

In this life-changing role, couples will reside in on-campus student homes, providing essential care, guidance, supervision, and support to approximately 8-13 students. As Flex Houseparents, you will play a crucial role in fostering a structured, family-like environment that promotes the academic, emotional, and social development of our students.

Core Responsibilities:
• Mentoring and supervising students daily.
• Managing household routines and coordinating student schedules.
• Administering medications and supporting student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning engaging development and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and attending Sunday Chapel with students.
• Overseeing household budgeting and reporting.

Flex Houseparents will begin by supporting various student homes under a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off. During weekdays, time will be available while students are in school. After a period of support, Flex Houseparents will transition into Placed Houseparents, living and working with a consistent group of students in their own designated home.

Compensation and Benefits:
• Salary: $46,917.00 per person, leading to approximately $180,000 total compensation per couple, including free housing, meals during duty, utilities, and more.

Qualifications:
• Experience in working or volunteering with youth.
• This position requires a married couple with a legal marriage lasting at least two years.
• Both members must be 27 years or older.
• A maximum of three dependent children may live in the student home.
• Committed to maintaining a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one approved breed dog allowed.
• A valid U.S. driver's license is required, along with certification to drive student home vans.
• Comfortable leading students in daily devotions and attendance at Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• A high school diploma or GED is necessary.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism as role models for our students.
