As a Substitute Teacher in the Douglas School District, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment while providing instruction in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
In This Role, You Will
• Deliver lesson plans and facilitate learning in various subjects and grade levels.
• Adapt teaching methods to engage students and maintain classroom structure.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all learners.
• Follow school policies and procedures to ensure continuity in education.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators.
Compensation
Pay is based on the substitute assignment and qualifications. Hourly rates are as follows:
• South Dakota Certified Teacher – $23.33/hour (when subbing for a teacher)
• Non-Certified Substitute – $19.33/hour (when subbing for a teacher)
• Principal's Secretary – $17.00/hour
• Building/Counselor/SPED Secretary – $16.25/hour
• Library Aide – $16.25/hour
• Instructional Aide/Tutor – $16.25/hour (Paraprofessional/Special Education)
• Custodian – $17.00/hour
• Bus Driver (current passenger CDL required) – $20.25/hour
• Registered Nurse (current license required) – $33.00/hour
• Lunchroom Aide – $14.75/hour
• Bus Aide – $14.75/hour
• Cook – $15.50/hour
• Food Service – $14.75/hour
• Delivery – $15.50/hour
