Andrew P. Stewart Center is seeking a full team of Part-time Classroom Leaders. The Classroom Leader will work alongside the Stewart Center team to implement after school programming for elementary students. The Classroom Leader will support the following program objectives:
• Increase students’ academic achievement.
• Foster character growth in all students.
• Build enduring relationships to promote children’s well-being through family and community stability.

As The Kindezi School’s exclusive After School partner, the Stewart Center’s program supports students’ intellectual and emotional development, provides life-changing enrichment, and builds enduring relationships with Pittsburgh families.
What You’ll Do:
• Manage a group of approximately 10–20 students by creating a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
• Actively supervise and promote engagement during homework help, enrichment activities, and social-emotional learning opportunities.
• Build authentic relationships with students and families through regular communication, encouragement, and participation in family engagement efforts
• Support community-building initiatives by helping create a welcoming environment where students, families, volunteers, and community partners feel valued and connected.
• Assist with family events, community gatherings, volunteer engagement opportunities, and special Stewart Center programs throughout the year.
• Serve as a positive representative of the Stewart Center's mission by fostering a culture of belonging, dignity, and mutual respect.
• Implement positive behavior management and restorative practices that promote student growth and responsibility.
• Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure high-quality program experiences and strong outcomes for students and families.
• Support program operations, including activity preparation, attendance tracking, transitions, event setup and breakdown, and maintaining a safe learning environment.
What Else You Should Know:
This Atlanta-based position is part-time, about 20 hours/week. The expected hours are 2:30pm-6:00pm, Monday-Thursday AND 12:30-6:00pm on Fridays (excluding school holidays). From time to time, there will be family events, community gatherings, or special events that will be required outside of program hours. There will be a calendar provided ahead of time.
The hourly compensation is $17/hour.
• Mandatory Training: Week of July 27
• First Day of School - August 3
• Holidays/Breaks: Our after school program follows the Kindezi schools calendar. There are no programs during school breaks or holidays.
