JOB SUMMARY
The Future Ready Teacher plans, implements, and provides academic and skills training to students in a variety of fields as outlined in the course curriculum. The Future Ready Teacher is responsible for providing a career and technical education program based on the Ohio Career Field Technical Content Standards. The Future Ready Teacher facilitates skills development, post-secondary education and career exploration, work-based learning experiences, transition planning, and increases employment opportunities by collaborating as a liaison between the community and the classroom.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY AREAS
TASKS
Industry-Aligned Instruction & Skill Development
• Design and implement hands-on, evidence-based instruction that focused on career pathways and college readiness (i.e. electrician, automotive, construction, hospitality, and college options etc)
• Guide students through hands-on practical learning experiences, ensuring adherence to all classroom and lab safety protocols
• Instruct students in appropriate job-seeking and retention skills
• Provide instruction that is appropriately paced and aligned with specific occupational skills while accounting for individual differences in ability, motivation, and learning rates
• Establish and maintain an effective learning environment that promotes student growth, skill mastery, and assures student safety
Beyond Graham Preparation
• Assist students in earning industry recognized credentials
• Mentor students in developing professional soft skills
• Support students in exploring and securing training, internships, and apprenticeships
• Establish and advise a Career Technical Student Organization
• Guide students in making career-related decisions
Data-Driven Decisions
• Administer diagnostic assessments and monitor weekly progress to ensure that students are progressing in career readiness and developing necessary skills for post-secondary education or career
• Design, implement, monitor and review appropriate training plans for students and record skill attainment accurately and promptly
• Establish and maintain student files including follow-up survey and placement records
Collaboration
• Collaborate with local business leaders and stakeholders to cultivate support and resources for the program
• Collaborate with other staff to facilitate cross-curricular learning opportunities
Communication
• Update families, staff, and other stakeholders regularly on student progress and career exploration opportunities
Equity and Access
• Use data to examine patterns and address disproportionality in reading and math growth and achievement
• Ensure that all students have access to timely, effective academic support especially in math and reading
QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS
• Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, or a related field (minimum)
• Master’s degree in education, special education, or a related field (preferred)
• Ohio Career-Technical Workforce Development (CTWD) license (preferred)
• Teaching credential or pupil services credential
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
• 3–5+ years of experience in teaching, special education, or career-technical education
• Experience participating in career-technical education and instructional teams
• Familiarity with career-technical education

• Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience and education.
