Overview
This role serves as a key point of coordination between the Human Resources centralized team and its network of approximately 24 charter schools, ensuring accuracy of HR data, consistent communication, and strong support for charter school staff. The Charter Assistant will play a critical role in auditing contract data, acting as an HR liaison to charter schools, and serving as the primary contact for benefits and pension-related inquiries. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level HR professional or recent graduate looking to build experience in public sector HR operations.
Core Functions
• Contract & Data Auditing
Review and audit contract data submitted by charter schools for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local and state policies
Identify discrepancies or missing information and coordinate with charter school contacts to resolve issues
Maintain organized documentation and ensure timely processing of updates
Utilize HR systems to track, reconcile, and report on contract data
• Charter School HR Liaison
Serve as the primary HR point of contact for approximately 24 charter schools
Build strong working relationships with charter school leadership and administrative staff
Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex issues as needed
• Benefits & Pension Support
Act as the main point of contact for charter school staff regarding benefits and pension inquiries
Respond to questions via email and phone using established resources and guides
Provide accurate, timely, and clear information to ensure a positive employee experience

Skills and Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field OR 13 years of relevant experience in HR, administrative support, or customer service
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally across diverse stakeholders
High level of organization and attention to detail, especially when handling data and documentation
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (comfortable working with spreadsheets, data tracking, and basic analysis)
General proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to learn HR systems and tools quickly
